Colleyville Man Charged with distribution of child pornography
Douglas S. Smith, Jr., 61, a former high-ranking Boy Scouts of America official, has been a program director coordinating scouting programs with schools and churches. He was accused on charges revealed today, filed on March 21st by federal prosecutors, of receiving images over the Internet in February of children engaging in oral sex, intercourse and other sexually explicit conduct.
The national spokesman for the Boy Scouts, Gregg Shields, provided a statement to the media that said, “we are shocked and dismayed to learn of these charges.” Shields said that Smith had been employed by the Boy Scouts for 39 years and there had never been any indication of a problem.
